Are you highly organised, detail-focused and passionate about supporting excellent education?
Loseley Fields Primary School is seeking to appoint a professional and efficient Clerk to the Local Governing Body to play a vital role in supporting our governors and senior leaders.
This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of a thriving primary school within a recently expanded multi-academy trust. Our mission is simple but powerful: to create a genuine love of learning and to achieve more through partnership and collaboration.
About the Role:
As Clerk, you will be central to the smooth and effective governance of the school. Working closely with the Headteacher and Chair of the Local Governing Body, you will:
• Organise and coordinate governing body and committee meetings;
• Prepare and circulate agendas and supporting documentation;
• Attend all statutory meetings and take accurate, professional minutes;
• Provide guidance on governance procedures, legislation and policy updates;
• Ensure compliance with data protection requirements;
• Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality.
Meeting Schedule:
• 6 Full Governing Board meetings per academic year (held in the evening mostly)
• 1 Governors monitoring meeting to look at curriculum work of the school (held during the school day)
• Occasional additional meetings as required
The role requires flexibility, as workload may vary throughout the year.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
• Is highly organised and efficient;
• Is confident using IT systems and digital documentation;
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Can work flexibly and independently;
• Is able to remain impartial and exercise discretion at all times.
Experience in governance or clerking is desirable, but not essential — we value professionalism, attention to detail and a commitment to supporting high standards.
Why Join Us?
• Be part of a supportive and forward-thinking school community;
• Contribute meaningfully to children’s educational success;
• Work alongside dedicated governors and leaders;
• Join a growing trust committed to collaboration and excellence.
We are part of the Learning Partners Academy Trust, giving staff access to a wide range of professional networks and training opportunities.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this obligation. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.
Closing date: 9am, 16th March 2026
We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of Learning Partners Academy Trust. We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workforce and particularly welcome suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to join our trust.
We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date, and interviews may be held upon receipt of applications.
