Summary


Applications are invited for Trust Doctor within Paediatric Surgery - Registrar Doctor ST3-5 level, the post is for 4 months from April 2026 – August 2026 with potential to extend. This post is suitable for surgeons who have completed their Core Surgical Training and are looking for experience in Paediatric Surgery. Applicants must be fully registered practitioners who have completed basic surgical training. Possession of Higher Qualifications (preferably MRCS or equivalent) is essential.

The post will enable the service to maintain an adequate level of Paediatric Surgery activity and on-call cover and will be an excellent opportunity for candidates looking gain further experience in the speciality. This post is a service post and will not be recognised for training. The successful post holder must have full registration with the General Medical Council. This is based at HRI and W&CH hospitals with the responsibility for the care of inpatients, outpatients and emergency admitted during the daytime and when on call. The appointee will work at the Specialist Registrar level ST3-6. Out of hours, the appointee will work on the Registrar rota (1:5), including prospective cover. Standard contracted hours 48 per week plus on call for Registrar rota including prospective cover.
