Summary

Choices Healthcare are looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated individual to join our company as a Deputy Care Manager (DCM) with scope to progress to a Registered Care Manager.
The DCM of our newest branch in Southend, Essex will be required to go that extra mile and be instrumental in the setup of the new branch, working with the Registered Care Manager and Directors as well as other team members to procure new contracts and clients as well as recruit care/support staff to provide a tailored, responsive and high-quality service to individuals with various care needs.
You will effectively coordinate a team of staff to deliver person centred and specialist services that meet our organisational standards and expectations. You will work with families, social workers and other professionals to monitor and review each individual clients' progress, promoting and supporting clients' access to appropriate health care facilities, ensuring all records are reviewed as required and regularly up to date.

About You
The preferred candidate must have proven experience of supervising and line managing staff in different care settings, working in accordance with the organisational policies and government legislation. Knowledge and experience of CQC guidelines and regulations is essential, ensuring the service meets and maintains a high standard of care service delivery. Above all, the preferred candidate must have a passion and devotion to duty of care.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day running of the service alongside the RCM
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies
Lead, motivate and support the care team to deliver outstanding care
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and NoKs to develop and implement individualised care plans for service users
Interact with relevant local authority councils, contract service providers, brokerage teams and any other relevant agencies to procure and maintain contracts
Administer quality assurance including spot checks, supervisions, home visits etc
Manage staffing, rotas, training status and performance reviews
Handle safeguarding concerns and incident reporting promptly and professionally
Ensure the health and safety of clients within their own homes and internal staff within the workplace
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with CQC requirements
Candidate requirements:
Previous experience in community care services at a senior level (essential)
Strong knowledge of the principles and operations of care practices and regulatory standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in computer skills, including care portals such as Care Planner (Norwich Community), PASS etc
Ability to lead and inspire a team
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Possession of driving licence and own vehicle are essential
Possession of at least Level 3 NVQ in health and social care, and be willing to work towards level 5, if not already acquired
A good attitude to work as well as flexibility are important for this position
Willing and able to step in for hands on care as and when needed, in particular times of emergency is important
Although this role is based at our Southend branch, you must be willing to alternate between our existing branches within Essex and Suffolk initially as part of the induction phase. Only when absolute necessary thereafter, with sufficient notice provided.
This job is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £30k per annum.
