An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Nurse Specialist Team as a Band 6 Co-Ordinator. You will need to be determined, driven, adaptable and enthusiastic. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work autonomously. You will work alongside other members of the team specialising in the planning and care of patients undergoing a Bone marrow Transplant.

This will provide an excellent opportunity to focus your advanced BMT nursing skills in direct patient care and service development. The post holder will be responsible for the coordination of donor pre and post care for related and unrelated donors. Responsible for providing teaching and education to patients and families. Obtaining bloods, checking results and reporting to the medical team. Appropriate referrals to other services including NHSBT, theatres/dental/physio/cardiology/Ronald MacDonald. Preparation of Bone Marrow Aspirate trays and distributing samples nationally and worldwide. Treatment/infusion/bloods/management of BMT outpatients in Ward 84 Day case. Discharge – planning/medication/line/NGT/PN training with families. Retrieval of tissue in theatre for fertility preservation. BMT data collecting and auditing.
