Summary

The successful applicant will join a team of 23 consultant cardiologists and will contribute to a comprehensive consultant-led secondary and tertiary cardiology service. He/she will have broad experience in all aspects of clinical cardiology, with particular expertise in advanced electrophysiology and complex device implantation. This post will include 3-4 sessions of work per week in the cardiac catheter labs. The workload will compromise a mixture of interventional electrophysiology and simple / complex device implantation. Most activity will be delivered within the tertiary centre at NUH. The appointee will participate in the Consultant of the week rota rotating through the Acute Cardiac Unit and in-patient wards currently on a 3:20 rotation. They will also participate in the QMC rota also currently 1:10. Weekend on-call is 48 hours from Saturday 9am until Monda8y 9am also on a 1:10 basis. The appointee may be offered the opportunity to exchange some or all weekends on call for two separate Sunday morning ward rounds without any weekend on call duties by mutual agreement. This results in working 1:5 Sundays without any Saturdays or any weekend on call. On-call frequency may change with future appointments and with the needs of the service.
