Year 5 Teacher – NG20 Mansfield – Full-Time – Long-Term
Job Description:
Link3 Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a primary school in NG20, Mansfield, to recruit a strong and experienced Year 5 Teacher for a long-term, full-time placement. We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled practitioner (not an ECT) who can provide much-needed stability, consistency, and strong leadership within a particularly challenging Year 5 class.
This role is to start as soon as possible. The school is keen to secure the right candidate promptly to minimise further disruption and ensure continuity for pupils.
The class consists of 28 pupils (10 boys and 18 girls) and has a high level of SEN and additional needs. As such, we require a confident and resilient teacher with a proven track record of successfully managing demanding classes and supporting pupils with significant additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum

Establish clear routines, firm expectations, and consistent behaviour management strategies

Provide stability and strong classroom leadership
-
Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
-
Effectively manage and support a class with a high level of SEN and additional needs

Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCO, senior leaders, and parents

Uphold the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
-
Significant experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 experience desirable)

Proven experience working successfully with classes with high levels of SEN and additional needs

Excellent behaviour management skills and strong classroom presence

Ability to quickly build positive relationships while maintaining firm boundaries

Resilience, confidence, and a proactive approach

This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
