Summary
The Government Art Collection team is part of the Visitor Economy, Heritage, Loans and Art Collection (VEHLAC) Directorate within DCMS. It consists of three teams: Curatorial, Collection Care and Collection Information.
This roles ensures that effective documentation policies, procedures, systems and standards are managed, supported and developed across the work of the Collection.
Collection documentation underpins the Government Art Collection’s (GAC) operation, and the Collection Management System is critical to the effective operation of the GAC, as well as being the source repository of core information for external audiences. Alongside this, we maintain an archive of paper and digital resources relating to the history and activities of the Collection.
As a Documentation Specialist, you will deliver a high-quality service that supports the GAC’s systems, operational cycle and strategic projects. Your role is to ensure that information about our artworks and activities is maintained, legally compliant and accessible for the team, organisation and audiences.
