Summary
We're recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Officer to provide specialist support to individuals experiencing domestic abuse on behalf of our well-established social housing client. This is an ongoing, temporary role, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, based in their St Helens office full time.
Key responsibilities:
- Make initial contact with victims and carry out risk assessments to identify levels of need, providing initial advice and support
- Manage your own caseload and work collaboratively with other agencies, empowering clients to understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and regain control of their lives
- Represent the group at MARAC, providing relevant case information
- Support target hardening to help client remain safely in their homes
- Develop safety and support plans in partnership with other agencies
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns for both adults and children using the multi-agency framework
- Maintain accurate records, including risk assessments, support plans and case notes
- Follow local referral pathways and connect individuals to specialist services for support
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience of working with individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse
- Understanding of domestic abuse legislation, risk assessment and best practice
- Experience of participating in MARAC, knowledge of safeguarding processes and multi-agency working
- Strong case management skills, including assessment and support planning
- Ability to respond in crisis situations and make sound judgements under pressure
- Commitment to work from the office 5 x days per week
