Job Title: Assistant Finance Business Partner (ESEE)

Location: Remote (Working from home)
Hours: 20 to 25 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 pro rata (depending on experience)

Contract: Permanent

United Response is seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner to support the Finance Business Partner for Operations/ESEE Specialist by providing financial support across ESEE services (Education, Day Services, and Supported Employment) in partnership with Operational colleagues and the Business Development Team.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused finance professional with experience in day-to-day financial operations and income management. The successful candidate will have strong reconciliation and reporting skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across operational teams and external stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in financial administration, including invoicing, billing and transaction processing.
  • Proven ability to perform detailed reconciliations, ensuring income aligns with services and contractual terms.
  • Experience in accounts receivable and income monitoring, including chasing payments and resolving discrepancies with external partners.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ability to produce clear financial reports and analysis for operational managers and support year-end processes.
  • Proactive approach to process improvement and enhancing financial procedures.
  • Proficiency with finance/accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
  • Good understanding of core accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments and double-entry accounting.
  • AAT part-qualified or equivalent is desirable with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C and above including Maths & English

You’ll be comfortable working remotely as part of a diverse team, willing to travel locally when required, and committed to completing relevant training
