Wrexham University’s Building Services & Maintenance Team delivers a dynamic, responsive service that supports academic, professional and commercial use of our inspiring campus spaces. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Building Services Manager to join our wider Estates Team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Estates & Campus Management, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of all University buildings. This is a pivotal position within a busy, high-performing department at the forefront of day‑to‑day campus operations.

Your role will be hands-on and solutions-focused, drawing on your experience in managing both reactive and planned maintenance services. You will lead the Building Services Team in handling requests through the Estates Helpdesk and oversee the provision, adjustment, and allocation of space across campus to support short-, medium- and long-term planning aligned with the University’s Vision & Strategy 2030.

Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with Timetabling and Commercial Services teams to ensure the efficient use of our physical resources, offering expert advice and recommendations to enhance space utilisation across the University.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Building Services Team in delivering effective day‑to‑day building services and maintenance.
Manage and prioritise requests via the Estates Helpdesk.
Oversee and coordinate space allocation and utilisation across the University.
Support strategic campus planning in line with Vision & Strategy 2030.
Work collaboratively with internal partners to optimise the use of physical resources.
Take a lead role in delivering a robust water hygiene (Legionella) management service.
Manage compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

Proven experience in managing reactive and planned maintenance services.
A hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving.
Experience in water hygiene and asbestos management.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
The ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment.
