Summary

The Landscape Maintenance Team are looking for someone to assist with the general maintenance of the Borough’s parks, cemeteries, sports and play facilities along with other horticultural areas.

Duties will include soft and hard landscaping; sports turf maintenance including setting out and marking of pitches; playground maintenance, cemetery maintenance including grave digging; grass cutting; hedge trimming; clearing leaves and litter; planting; arboriculture work; pruning; chemical control. It will be necessary to use a wide range of tools and equipment including ride on mowers, powered hand tools and light plant to undertake these activities.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative and be able to deal with members of the public in the correct manner. You must also possess a City and Guilds (or equivalent) qualification, up to and including phase 2 or in service training leading to a comparable level of skill, together with good practical experience.

You should also have literacy skills to complete timesheets and records etc., and numeracy skills to make simple calculations and measurements.
As you will be required to travel around the Borough, a current, full driving licence is essential for this position.
