About the Client
Barnet Council’s Communities, Adults & Health directorate supports vulnerable adults across the borough, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred services. The Adults Income Team plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting debt management processes, and ensuring compliance with local and professional standards.

The Role
The Finance Support Officer will work within the Debt Team, supporting the management of client accounts, processing payments, maintaining accurate financial information, and providing administrative support. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain client financial accounts in line with agreed standards

Process payments accurately and within required timescales

Support debt management processes and follow up on outstanding income

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Provide administrative support to the Adults Income Team

Liaise with clients, internal teams, and external partners professionally

Ensure compliance with local policies and financial procedures

Candidate Requirements
Previous experience in a finance, income, or debt‑related administrative role

Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities

Confident using financial systems and Microsoft Office applications

A proactive, detail‑focused approach with a commitment to high standards
