Our client is a highly respected engineering business operating within the toolmaking and mould/die sector. With advanced in-house CNC and EDM capabilities, they manufacture, maintain, and repair high-precision tooling to exacting standards. The Role
A works manager is responsible for overseeing daily workshop production, ensuring safety compliance (H&S, COSHH), and maintaining, and managing staff performance to meet efficiency targets. They play a critical role in coordinating production flow, managing resources, and ensuring high-quality, on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and coordinate daily production within the workshop and moulding operations
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including H&S and COSHH requirements
• Manage staff performance, productivity, and development to meet efficiency targets
• Plan and control workflow to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
• Manage resources including labour, materials, and equipment
• Monitor and improve KPIs relating to quality, output, and cost control
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and operational discipline
• Liaise with senior management regarding production planning and performance
About You
• Proven experience in a Works Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership role within technical manufacturing, moulding, or an industrial environment
• You must have a strong engineering background (ESSENTIAL)
• Strong understanding of H&S legislation and COSHH compliance
• Experience managing teams in a workshop or production setting
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Results-driven with a focus on quality and efficiency
• Confident communicator with strong leadership presence
