Summary
Clinical Responsibilities Undertake assessment of patients attending the AED department making decisions on treatment. Ensure timely treatment plans for patients are actioned. Ensure timely referrals to the appropriate specialty where an admission is required. Liaise with other department in the hospital as the patients condition dictates. Co-operation with outside agencies, particularly relationships with the Police and child protection agencies. Participate in the teaching and supervision of the work and duties of the junior doctors in training. Assist in the compilation, checking and analysis of data for medical audit. So far as it is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties, the post holder undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues. The post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. The post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to be available for such irregular commitments outside normally rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.
