Summary

Trainee Automation Engineer

Location: Carterton, Oxfordshire (OX18 3ER)
Site-based role with travel to residential and commercial client sites within a 30-mile radius

Salary: £27,000 – £33,000 per annum (dependent on experience and progression)

Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday - 8 am to 5 pm (overtime available depending on work requirements)

Our client specialises in the manufacture of premium aluminium gates and the installation of residential and commercial automation. They design, build, install and maintain electric gates, entry systems, bollards, barriers and other automation products. They pride themselves on the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their customers.

The role

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Automation Support

• Assisting with the installation and commissioning of automated gate systems
• Wiring and configuring motors, safety devices, and accessories
• Running, labelling, and terminating cables
• Supporting engineers with testing, fault-finding, and handovers

Installation & Site Work

• Assisting with trenching, digging, and groundwork
• Fitting posts, hanging gates, and installing automation equipment
• Basic metalwork, including cutting, grinding, and polishing
• Making good ground surfaces such as gravel, tarmac, and paving
