Summary
From April 2026, a wonderful opportunity has become available for a warm, nurturing and fun nanny to join a welcoming, professional family based in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
The family leads a healthy and active lifestyle and enjoys music, singing, dancing and reading together. They are hoping to find someone who is Ofsted registered (or willing to obtain), looking for a long-term position and who will become an important part of their happy home.
Although not essential, Dad is Italian speaking, so a candidate who can speak Italian would be a wonderful bonus.
You will be caring for one charming baby boy, currently six months old. Mum plans to return to work in May following maternity leave, at which point the role will become sole charge.
The proposed working hours are (30 hours):
• Monday: 9:00–12:30 (3.5 hours)
• Tuesday: 8:00–17:00 (9 hours)
• Wednesday: 9:00–16:00 (7 hours)
• Thursday: 9:00–16:00 (7 hours)
• Friday: 9:00–12:30 (3.5 hours)
Some flexibility will be required from time to time to accommodate the parents’ work commitments, with any additional hours and mutually agreed babysitting taken as time off in lieu.
The parents would love you to support their son’s development with a well-rounded approach as he reaches his milestones. This should include a variety of indoor activities such as reading, singing, puzzles and imaginative play, along with plenty of outdoor time, including walks and visits to local parks. They are also keen for him to attend groups, activities and playdates, so a nanny who is sociable, organised and proactive in arranging outings would be ideal, ensuring that he is happy and safe at all times.
Alongside childcare, nursery duties will form part of the role. This includes preparing healthy, nutritious home-cooked meals for the baby (including batch cooking), keeping his spaces clean and organised, and managing his laundry. Knowledge of weaning and potty training is important. Any support with small day-to-day tasks, such as emptying the dishwasher and ensuring toys are tidied away at the end of the day, would also be appreciated.
The family lives in the city centre with all amenities, activities and baby groups within easy walking distance, so a driver is not required for this role.
