Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery lunch time Assistant to join our team. You will play a vital role in providing care and support to children at lunch time. Your responsibilities will include: ensuring the safety and well-being of the children whilst eating, promoting an ethos of healthy eating, temperature checking food before dishing out, washing up and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Ideal as second job, or an introduction to those working with children for 1 - 2 hours a day Monday - Friday term time. Reduced hours will be required in school holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the lunch time care of children aged 0-5 years in the nursery at lunch time
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Supporting children with self care and toileting as needed
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play
- Help with mealtime routines, including feeding and cleaning
- Working within a small staff team
- Encourage healthy eating
- Support children to begin to eat independently
- Maintain cleanliness of the nursery kitchen and eating area
- Temperature checking food and dishing meals out
Qualities:
- Previous experience working with young children or Early Years qualifications preferred (but not necessary)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children

Food Hygiene training will be provided
Vacancy will be subject to an enhanced dbs check and 2 references and appropriate online safeguarding training to be completed.
