Summary
A fantastic opportunity has become available with a highly respected, employee‑owned food producer based in Alness. Known for their strong values, partner‑led culture and commitment to continuous improvement, they are looking for a proactive and organised Health & Safety Systems Coordinator to support key improvement projects and strengthen their internal processes.
This part‑time role, working three days per week on a six‑month contract, is ideal for someone who enjoys data, organisation, problem‑solving and making a real impact on workplace safety.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the Health & Safety team across a mix of project work, data management and coordination tasks, including:
Driving a Manual Handling Improvement Project — reviewing current practices, analysing risk trends, coordinating assessments and supporting practical controls to reduce injuries.
Maintaining and improving H&S data systems — updating matrices, tracking incidents and issues, analysing trends and supporting accurate reporting.
Coordinating training and compliance records — updating training matrices, managing documentation, archiving records and supporting internal training materials.
Supporting communication and engagement — updating noticeboards/screens, contributing to internal communications and assisting with wellbeing campaigns.
Managing documentation and administration — scanning files, maintaining registers of actions, monitoring outstanding items and supporting SVQ processes.
Assisting with wider H&S projects — audits, policy updates, KPI reporting and ensuring adequate First Aider/Fire Warden coverage.
This role offers excellent exposure to a busy Health & Safety function, with opportunities to get involved in audits, policy development and deputising tasks - ideal for someone looking to build a long‑term career in H&S.
Essential Skills We’re Looking For
Strong administrative and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, records and deadlines
A foundational understanding of Health & Safety principles or a genuine interest in developing a career in this area, supported by any relevant H&S training
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to maintain accurate data and documentation (spreadsheets, trackers, matrices)
Clear and confident communication skills, able to work with different department
Trustworthy and professional when handling sensitive or confidential information
Desirable skills include experience in manufacturing or production administration, familiarity with manual handling principles, exposure to incident or accident data, or early progress toward a Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH.
