About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about solving real-world problems and driving innovation within a fast-paced startup environment. This is a hybrid role based in Greater London, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to shape product direction and technical strategy.
The ideal candidate is a clear communicator who thinks from first principles and enjoys building creative, practical solutions. You value speed, accuracy, and meaningful impact, and you have a strong track record of delivering high-quality production-ready code. You are comfortable working independently while knowing when collaboration is key to moving projects forward.
In this role, you will work closely with technical and domain teams to transform requirements into scalable, efficient, and user-focused solutions across the full technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate directly with internal teams to gather requirements and design features end-to-end (frontend to backend).
Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing applications and internal back-office tools.
Drive architectural decisions and continuously optimise performance and scalability across the tech stack.
Proactively identify customer experience improvements and implement effective solutions.
Rapidly ship new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
Contribute to technical leadership and foster a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Minimum 2+ years of experience writing production-ready frontend and backend code.
Strong experience with React (TypeScript) and Golang.
At least 2+ years of experience working with SQL (Postgres), including query optimisation, migrations, and data analysis.
Experience with serverless architectures and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience managing cloud services such as Google Cloud and AWS.
Desirable / Bonus Skills
Previous startup experience.
Experience building Python web services (e.g., FastAPI or Django).
Data engineering experience using the PyData stack (NumPy, Pandas, etc.).
Experience developing machine learning systems, including LLM-based solutions and RAG architectures using embeddings.
