Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Geography at this successful and secondary school in north Leeds, recently graded 'Good' by Ofsted.
The successful candidate will have high aspirations for all students and will share our commitment to further raising achievement across the 11-18 age range.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, conscientious and passionate Geography teacher who would like to join a close-knit department team, with a record of improving and developing individuals through a supportive approach. The successful candidate would be able to take part in and add to the variety of ECAs and trips offered already within the department - such as visits to the East Yorkshire Coast, Malham and the Yorkshire Dales. The successful candidate will be joining the department at an exciting time, and would be expected to build upon and assist in the development and teaching of a new curriculum that engages and excites young people in their classroom.
What the school offers its staff
Ralph Thoresby is a good and improving comprehensive school serving a vibrant local community. 'Pupils take pride in their work' 'This is a school where staff and pupils celebrate diversity and promote values, mutual respect and care for others' (Ofsted)
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post requires Enhanced Disclosure (DBS).
