About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Learning & Development Trainer to deliver both virtual and in-person training events across the business which include, Manager induction training, safeguarding training, soft skills training and leading development programmes to support internal talent streams.
You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh, innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We are a team of experienced professionals who tailor our catering service provision specifically to suit children of all ages in order to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

Please note: This is a field-based role with some travel expected across England. Although it is not mandatory, it is preferred for candidates to hold a full UK driving licence due to some of the locations in which we operate. There will also be opportunity for home working when applicable as this is a hybrid role.
Job Description
- Delivering existing company training programmes
- Drive attendance compliance of all required training
- Assist with the development of new eLearning content, training courses and development programmes to a range of internal learners from Team Member to Manager and Support team roles.
- Support our apprentice learner onboarding process and co-ordinate with apprenticeship providers
- Evaluation of training effectiveness and ROI, using feedback and metrics to update and enhance training content
- Support the L&D Assistant with administration of the LMS platform
- Work in partnership with our Operations and support teams to continuously look for ways to improve operational standards by developing and implementing effective and engaging training solutions.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
Communication
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage a diverse audience both online and in person.
- Confident when communicating to senior stakeholders both internal and external
- Strong on-line facilitation skills essential using Zoom and Teams
Interpersonal
- Ability to build relationships quickly at all levels and engage learners.
- Assertive self-starter with ability to motivate and influence others.
Instructional L&D Design
- Support the L&D manager with systematic process of analysing , developing and evaluating or L&D portfolio and updating materials as required
- Ensuring effective, engaging and efficient transfer of skills and knowledge to learners through content delivery
- Knowledge of content creation tools.
Preferred Qualifications and experience
- CIPD in Learning and Development level 3 or above
- Experience working within education sector highly attractive
- Knowledge and skills of coaching (With or without qualification)
- Relevant experience in corporate training, facilitation with some instructional design
- Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Understanding of learning cycle
- Proven ability to work autonomously and part of a hybrid team
- Must be suitable to work within school environments and in the presence of children (See Safeguarding statement below)
