Consultant in Renal Medicine (Maternity Cover)

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
• Are you looking to be part of an experienced and supportive MDT?
• Are you passionate in providing high quality Renal patient care?
• Do you want a working environment that supports your clinical and academic development?

We are looking to welcome applications for a Consultant Nephrologist, to join a dynamic multidisciplinary renal team based at York Hospital. We can offer a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover a maternity leave.

It is an exciting time to join the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Renal Team. There are plans for redevelopment of our dialysis units, the renal ward and ongoing service development opportunities in York and affiliated satellite hospitals.

The Renal Department enjoys a close affiliation to the Hull York Medical School and has an active research team. A full range of renal replacement therapies are managed by the team, including our pioneering self-care haemodialysis areas. We also have very active home therapies and transplantation programmes.

The post is for 10 PAs and the successful candidate will join 8 full time and 3 part time equivalent colleagues who cover Renal services in a geographical area between Ripon and the Yorkshire East Coast including clinical work in Harrogate, York and Scarborough hospitals and their affiliated dialysis units. There is no General Medicine 'on call' attached to this post but we do operate a renal 'on call' rota out of hours together with an inpatient 'duty' role that includes occasional weekend working (approx. 1:8)

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a strong ethos in team work and quality improvement who is fully registered with the GMC.
