Summary

This role has been developed to work with young people in the borough of Wandsworth who may have been historically underrepresented in mainstream CAMHS, aiming to improve equity of access. The postholder will be joining an established service and the role forms part of the CAMHS tier 2 provision provided into Wandsworth Youth Justice Service (YJS). This postholder will be providing consent based psychological assessment and treatment for young people and families who are currently involved with or at increased risk of entering the Youth Justice System. They will also support cases where there are risks of contextual harm such as child exploitation. These cases often require engagement and support from several agencies and Multi-agency joint working. The role requires advanced skills in psychological assessment and formulation, with an understanding of how to incorporate offending behaviour within a trauma-informed framework, as well as the ability to share this and recommendations with other professionals in the network. An important aspect of the role includes providing consultation, supervision, and training to team members and external agencies. The Wandsworth YJS-CAMHS service is fully integrated into the local authority. You will be supervised by Senior Psychologists within the YJS-CAMHS team and supported by various professionals and managers within local authority and by the Wandsworth CAMHS service manager and Lead for Youth Justice and Pupil Referral Units, who you will hold responsibility to and held accountable for your role and responsibility.
