We are seeking a visionary and dedicated Consultant Haematologist to join our dynamic group of haematologists specializing in the field of Haemostasis and Thrombosis. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide expert clinical and laboratory leadership within a high-performing department dedicated to excellence in patient care and scientific innovation.
As a core member of the haematology consultant workforce team, you will be involved in the delivery of specialist services for patients with disordered haemostatic or thrombotic conditions. Key responsibilities include:
• Clinical Excellence: Providing expert diagnosis and management for complex thrombotic conditions, acquired and inherited haemostasis disorders, and overseeing anticoagulant therapy
• Laboratory Leadership: Working closely with laboratory scientific staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services, interpretive advice, and the implementation of new coagulation technologies.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Leading and motivating a diverse team of specialist nurses, pharmacists, and scientists to provide integrated patient pathways, including VTE prevention and anticoagulation management.
• Education and Innovation: Driving the department's research portfolio and participating in the training and supervision of specialty registrars and medical students.
1. To provide consultant input for clinical aspects of haemostasis and thrombosis working with both the anti-coagulation/ thrombosis team and the haemophilia / haemostasis team
2. To lead the team with existing Haemostasis and thrombosis consultants to ensure readily available haematology expertise in the provision of laboratory haemostasis and thrombosis interpretation and management of pathology results.
3. To assist in the development of anticoagulant and thrombosis services with the Anticoagulant team involving delivering education in the Trust and primary care to ensure compliance with National standards and improve patient safety.
4. To support the implementation of National guidance on the prevention of hospital acquired venous thromboembolism, working with the Hospital Thrombosis team in development, dissemination and audit of best practice.
5. To ensure provision of a high standard of practice of laboratory diagnostic haematology services in partnership with the South West London Pathology Network, working in conjunction with the other haematology consultants to ensure comprehensive cover for the laboratory.
6. To provide clinical haematology services as part of the non-malignant haematology team working in conjunction with the other haematology consultants.
7. To work with the laboratory manager, scientific team and clinical lead to ensure compliancy with CPA standards and are updated in line with current best practice.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized clinician with a proven track record in non-malignant haematology. You must hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register (or within six months of CCT). Essential requirements include MRCP and FRCPath (or equivalent) and evidence of advanced training in haemostasis and thrombosis, ideally within a Comprehensive Care Centre.
