Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced Manager who can lead and direct the financial resources to ensure there are sufficient high quality childcare places for families and working parents with young children to access their funded entitlements in their local area. Current annual budget is £42m.
You will manage and support the Early Years service support team of 7 staff who are responsible for ensuring that data entered held in the early years headcount portal is accurate and up to date, funding payments are paid on time, uptake data is recorded, and the Family Information Service is compliant with the DfE statutory guidance.
You will work with Early Years Standard & Improvement Officers to ensure that, across the city there is a sufficient quality early years workforce who can deliver high quality childcare and early education, which has significant impact on the outcomes for all young children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and DfE Best Start in Life expected levels of development.
You will need to be a confident communicator and a competent decision maker, able to balance a varied, extensive workload in a constantly changing landscape.
You will need to sustain and develop the established relationships with a diverse range of providers who deliver government funded places and encourage existing providers to expand and new providers to enter the childcare market where and when the need arises.Qualification requirement: Degree in Business Administration or relevant accounting qualification or equivalent level of Early Years experience
