Summary
1. To be responsible for a clinical caseload of paediatric occupational therapy including assessment, interpretation of assessment results, evaluation, treatment, and advice, through the use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures. To carry out assessments and evaluate the childs occupational performance. This will include the use of standardised and non-standardised assessments, observation, interview with parent or carer and/or parent and teacher questionnaires. To develop, plan and implement specialist Occupational Therapy treatment programmes and strategies to enhance the childs ability to perform everyday activities and participate in multiple environments. This could include verbal and written advice/ recommendations, written advice sheets and individual treatment. 1. Assess a childs need for specialist equipment and small aids (e.g. specialist seating, bath aids and toilet aids), advise and recommend/ provide appropriate equipment for use at home, pre-school and school, in line with service criteria Review and complete adjustments to specialist equipment, e.g. specialist seating, ensuring equipment is appropriate to meet the child functional needs within the identified occupations and to demonstrate use to family and professionals working with the child.
