Summary
Provide Education, Health and Care plan (EHC) assessments, reports and reviews, and oversee and quality assure the EHC assessment provision within the service, including reports and assessments by other team members; in all cases ensure adherence to local, national and professional guidelines and practice. Exercise specialist understanding in complex cases, supporting multi-disciplinary colleagues and working closely with the SEN Team. This will include offering specialist testimony regarding OT provision e.g. at panels, appeals and tribunals. Maintain a specialist knowledge of the EHC process and associated legislation, keeping up to date with SEND local offers, developments and good practice; share and disseminate learning and promote quality improvement. Manage a complex clinical caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centred care, undertaking assessment, interpretation of assessment results, evaluation, meaningful goals, treatment, and advice. Carry out assessments and evaluate the childs occupational performance, for example, through the use of standardised and non-standardised assessments, observation, interview with parent or carer and/or parent and teacher questionnaires.
