ROLE: Logistics ManagerHOURS: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30LOCATION: MoD Lyneham

We're looking for a Logistics Manager who will lead a Logistics Area Service Stream, managing a team of skilled Stores Supervisors, Administrators, and Operatives to deliver customer‑focused Military Personnel Stores Services.
Role Responsibilities
-Act as the lead Subject Matter Expert for all Logistics Stores services, promoting best practice and delivering the contracted requirement to the required quality standard and agreed service levels, including internal checks, controls, and compliance auditing.
-Promote the development and optimum performance of the delivery team, taking appropriate and timely action to mitigate risk and prevent service failure across all service areas.
-Identify and implement innovative solutions to meet emerging demands within contractual boundaries.
-Identify and recruit essential staff into an established, dynamic, and specialised team when required.
-Ensure all activities comply fully with Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations.
-Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Line Manager, including leading change initiatives and supporting authorised public events.
Required QualificationsApplicants must meet the below requirements:
-Management experience with strong organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity.
-Proven track record in delivering quality administration and customer‑facing services.
-Credible verbal and written communication skills with the ability to form strong working relationships.
-IT‑literate with good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
-Knowledge of MoD Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) stores accounting application (desirable).
-Proactive approach with the ability to lead and embrace change.
-Ability to manage short‑notice changes and deadlines.
-Management‑level knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practice (IOSH Managing Safely desirable).
-Good standard of education, preferably NVQ Level 5 or equivalent.
Additional Information
-MOD Security Clearance and DBS Standard are required.
-To meet national security vetting requirements, candidates must normally have been resident in the UK for:
-3 years for Counter Terrorist Check
-5 years for Security Clearance
-10 years for Developed Vetting
-Developed Vetting roles require UK Nationals.
-Proof of right to work in the UK is essential.
-Required to wear approved company workwear.
