We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a busy production team. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering a 40-hour working week. Working hours are 7.30 AM to 4.00 PM.
Key responsibilities:
- Accurately assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies to specification.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions and bills of materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment.
- Carry out quality checks and ensure components meet tolerance and finish requirements.
- Identify and report non-conformances and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate assembly records and complete paperwork as required.
- Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar manufacturing/assembly role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work the specified hours (7.30 AM to 4.00 PM), 40 hour week.
- Comfortable standing for prolonged periods and performing light to moderate lifting.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
