About the Role
We are recruiting three Contact Centre Assistants to support a public-sector elections team during the lead‑up to the 2026 Scottish Parliament Election. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with customer service experience who enjoy handling enquiries, working independently, and providing clear and helpful information.
You will act as the first point of contact for all election‑related queries from the public. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls via the Microsoft Contact Centre system.
- Use a provided Microsoft Form to guide responses to common enquiries.
- Escalate or pass on information to the elections team where required.
- Manage queries using Microsoft Teams and Outlook when not covered by the standard form.
- Provide accurate information in a calm, professional manner.
- Carry out general administrative duties as needed.
- Work independently and use initiative to resolve queries.
What We're Looking For
No formal qualifications are required. Instead, we're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience in a customer-facing or call-handling role.
- Ability to work unsupervised and use sound judgement.
- Confidence in handling difficult or emergency situations professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to relate to people at all levels.
- Competence using standard ICT tools, especially Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid role: combination of working onsite in Aberdeen and working from home (subject to management approval).
- Onsite training is mandatory at the start of the assignment.
- WFH setup must be DSE-compliant; equipment is not provided by the client.
Why Apply?
- Great short-term role for anyone wanting flexible work during the election period.
- Ideal for those seeking experience in public-sector support or contact centre environments.
- Supportive training and clear guidance provided throughout.
