Summary
Job Title - Skilled Groundworks & Civils Labourer
Employment Type:

Director/ Site Foreman
Job Purpose - To carry out skilled labouring duties in support of groundworks and civil engineering operations, contributing to the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of projects. The role involves assisting with drainage, foundations, concrete works, and general site activities while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of groundworks and civil engineering activities
Excavation, trenching, and backfilling works
Kerbing, edging, and paving works
Supporting plant operators and trades on site
Loading/unloading materials and distributing around site
Maintaining site cleanliness and good housekeeping
Following instructions from supervisors and working to programme deadlines
Complying with all health & safety policies and procedures
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential
Full Driving Licence is a must
Proven experience in groundworks or civil engineering environments
Ability to follow site instructions
Physically fit and capable of manual handling
Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious
Strong team player with a proactive attitude
Desirable:
Experience operating small plant (dumper, roller, whacker plate, etc.)
Qualifications:
Full Driving Licence
No formal cards required
Training will be provided where necessary
Personal Attributes:
Hard-working and dependable
Positive “can-do” approach
Willing to learn and develop skills
Takes pride in quality workmanship
Working Conditions:
Outdoor site-based role in all weathers
Manual and physical work involved
