Summary
Role Description
This role will deliver products to our customer base, ensuring all driving regulations are followed. Loading and unloading of vehicles and upon return after your run, you will also assist warehouse team to complete all tasks and duties, ensuring they are carried out in a timely and accurate manner and to company standards. Hours of work are 7.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive and in no order)
· Ensure you have the correct licence to drive the type of vehicle being operated and you have a current CPC card.
· Conduct all pre-journey checks and report any defects on the appropriate paperwork.
· Be responsible for the security of the vehicle, remove vehicle keys and lock the cab when not occupied.
· Deliver product to an area agreed with the customer or collect product as requested by the office.
· Follow the company driving policy & ensure you drive safely and to current regulations.
· Ensure goods on your vehicle are correct, match to the paperwork, are loaded safely and securely stowed.
· If required, assist in route planning.
· Ensure your vehicle is kept clean and to company standards.
· To be involved in the safe and efficient receipt, storage, rotation and despatch of products.
· Reach and/or Counterbalance forklift licence would be advantageous.
· Using lifting and moving equipment in a safe manner.
· To represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic and positive manner, both when at customer premises, on the road and back in branch.
· Provide a clean, tidy & safe working environment, adhering to Health & Safety procedures, ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
· Any other driving or warehouse related duties.
· You may be required at times to carry out various other duties within your capabilities.
Qualifications / Experience
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift awkward or heavy loads safely.
· Licence to drive 7.5 tonne vehicle & current CPC card.
· Experience of multi-drop deliveries would be an advantage.
