Are you highly organised, detail-focused, and passionate about data accuracy? We are looking for a proactive and reliable MIS Officer to join our busy Management Information Systems (MIS) team and play a vital role in maintaining accurate learner data that underpins funding, reporting, and quality assurance across the College.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong data management skills who enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced educational environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain the accuracy and credibility of learner records across all information systems to support business intelligence reporting and funding compliance
Manage and update learner data throughout the academic year, including:
Learner enrolments
Timetable and room management
Course changes and learner transfers
Learner progression and outcomes
Destination data
Assist with ILR data cleansing using validation tools such as FIS and PDSAT, alongside internal monitoring processes
Lead on specific tasks or projects supporting strategic and system developments, including the implementation of new software, updated workflows, and process improvements
Produce guidance documentation and deliver training or demonstrations to ensure consistent data practices across the College
Work with external systems and agencies (e.g. Learner Loans, HE Loans, Local Authorities) in line with data sharing agreements
Liaise with subcontractors and partners to ensure data integrity
Support audit, funding methodology, Ofsted data practices, and quality processes in collaboration with the Head of MIS
Proactively monitor data quality and identify opportunities to improve assurance processes

Job Requirements:

Essential:

A high standard of education or equivalent substantial relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of timetabling processes and related data management.
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, lookups, pivot tables).
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
A collaborative mindset and ability to lead cross-departmental tasks.
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Desirable:

Experience working in a Further Education (FE) setting.
Understanding of curriculum management and support systems.
Computer-related qualifications or formal training.
