We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our Quantity Surveyor you'll play a key role in overseeing the commercial viability of projects by attending progress and planning meetings, analysing cost-to-complete data, preparing monthly CVRs, and identifying risks or variances against agreed budgets. Working closely with clients, you will agree budgets for each job, including risk registers and programme requirements, while ensuring all contractual dates and notifications are managed in line with expectations.
Collaboration is central to this role, and you'll build strong working relationships with Project Delivery Managers and wider stakeholders to ensure effective communication, early identification of risks, and well‑prioritised workload planning. You’ll be responsible for monitoring project performance, analysing cost allocations, and developing improvement plans to enhance productivity and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
Alongside your analytical responsibilities, you will champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and sharing best practice across the contract. You may also supervise staff when required and support ad‑hoc commercial tasks to ensure smooth, efficient project delivery and robust commercial outcomes.
What you'll bring
- Formal Quantity Surveyor qualification (HND or BSc)
- Working knowledge of NEC3 form of contract
- Project experience, with involvement in change control and risk management
- Knowledge / experience surrounding management of risk budgets and associated analysis
- Exemplary attention to detail
- Experience in the compilation & presentation of cost and value reports / analysis across a portfolio of projects
- Good communication, interaction / team-working, presentation and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of Excel essential e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, there will be an excel test on interviewing.
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload to ensure all targets and reports are delivered on time and with the appropriate level of analysis.
- Full driving licence
