Summary
An excellent opportunity for a Learning & Development Manager (Permanent)I'm looking for a proactive and hands-on Learning & Development Manager to lead capability development in the construction industry. This is a role with real influence, designing and delivering training solutions that keep people compliant, skilled, and ready for the future.You'll work closely with senior leaders to understand capability needs, create practical learning interventions, and oversee the smooth running of a learning and development team. While this isn't a strategic leadership role, your insights will directly inform workforce planning and help shape business priorities.What you'll be doing
- Partner with senior leaders to identify capability gaps and develop targeted L&D plans.
- Design, coordinate and deliver training programmes across technical, compliance, leadership and soft skills.
- Ensure all learning content meets regulatory, industry and organisational standards.
- Manage and support a learning and development team to ensure seamless operational delivery.
- Analyse training data, report insights and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- This role will involve national travel weekly during the probation period, then travelling 1-2 times a month after probation. The role is based in Watford and hybrid after probation.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Learning & Development Manager who has managed a small team, ideally within construction, engineering or highways.
- You must have experience designing and delivering end-to-end training programmes.
- A collaborative, credible and proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
