Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing - Responsive Repairs)
Location: Bristol
Working pattern: Hybrid, Monday to Friday, typically 8:30am - 5:00pm
A great opportunity has arisen with our client to join their Bristol office, working on a long-term Social Housing framework contract. This role plays a crucial part in delivering the commercial aspects of the contract, offering autonomy and the opportunity to make a significant impact.
The focus is on Social Housing responsive repairs and void works within tenanted properties. You will have the flexibility to work from home, the office, and on site, collaborating with a supportive team in an inclusive and fair working environment.

The RoleThe purpose of the role is to obtain and evaluate information to ensure realistic costings for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services across designated refurbishment projects. You will liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure that information, costs, profitability, and value meet the requirements of each project or contract.

Assist in the preparation, processing, and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders within demanding timescales

Support the development of procurement programmes
-
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts for designated projects
-
Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the client or client's representative
-
Produce monthly valuation reports
-
Submit invoices for certified values and ensure timely payment
-
Value and authorise payments to subcontractors
-
Liaise with Contract Managers to establish project specifications and requirements

Attend and contribute to internal and client meetings, building strong professional relationships

Monitor contract progress and report on any changes affecting cost or timescales

Assist in controlling contract budgets
You will have proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the Social Housing sector, ideally across multiple contracts. Experience in responsive repairs is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of JCT and Measured Term Contracts is essential, along with experience of Price Per Property (PPP) models. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be highly IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
A full UK driving licence is required, as travel is an essential part of the role. A DBS check will also be required.
