Summary

Pioneering SEN Teaching Assistant | Be a Founding Voice

Location: Chaldon, Surrey (Commutable from Redhill / Caterham / Whyteleafe)

This is a rare opportunity to join a brand-new Secondary SEN school at the ground floor and help define the culture, support systems, and success stories for years to come.

The Mission

We specialise in supporting young people (ages 11-16) who navigate the world differently. Our students primarily focus on social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing-often within the context of Autism.

Forget the "standard" classroom. Here, you'll work in small, high-ratio groups alongside a powerhouse multidisciplinary team of therapists and specialists to provide a truly bespoke education.

Your Impact

  • Mentor & Guide: You aren't just helping with worksheets; you're helping students navigate social complexities and emotional growth in a safe, judgement-free zone.

  • Adaptive Support: You'll pivot your approach daily, using positive behaviour strategies to foster independence and confidence.

  • Collaborative Delivery: Partner with teachers to tweak and tailor lessons on the fly, ensuring every student "clicks" with the curriculum.

  • Advocacy: Act as a dedicated champion for student welfare, ensuring safeguarding is the heartbeat of everything we do.

Who Are You?

We hire for attitude and empathy over a long CV. Whether you are a recent graduate, a career changer from the care sector, or someone with a lived passion for SEN, we want to talk to you.

The Essentials:

  • The Basics: GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above).

  • The Mindset: Resilient, proactive, and calm under pressure. You view "challenging behaviour" as communication, not a hurdle.

  • The Knowledge: A foundational understanding of Safeguarding (don't worry, we'll dive deeper during your induction).

Bonus Points:

  • Any previous experience in inclusive environments or SEND settings is a plus, but comprehensive training is provided.
