Summary

Job Title: Administration Assistant (Grade B)
Actual Annual Salary: £11,706 - £12,760 19.5 hours per week, term time only + insets
Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,941 - £28,275 (CLF Grade B) Based on 37 hours per week,
Contract Type: Permanent
Additional Information: 19.5 hours per week, working pattern is flexible but will be over 3 days. We can be flexible with what working days.
Provisional Start Date: 20 April 2026 – upon completion of pre-employment checks

Monkton Wood Academy, Taunton is seeking an Administration Assistant to join its supportive and busy team on a permanent basis.
Under the direction of senior staff, the Administration Assistant will provide general administrative and clerical support to the academy.  They will be expected to undertake administrative tasks such as reception duties, dealing with incoming and outgoing mail and ordering stationery as well as some targeted admin support for specific areas such as admissions, work experience etc. At all times, the post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with relevant colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute positively to the effective running of the administration function within the academy.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage warmly and professionally with students, staff, parents, and visitors.  Be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and email, and ideally have experience with school management systems such as Bromcom. 
Be highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. 
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a calm approach when dealing with sensitive situations or safeguarding matters. 
Be committed to confidentiality, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
