We’re hiring an Operations Manager to lead a high-performing Emergency Response Team within a fast-scaling, safety-critical environment in Manchester.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real accountability. You’ll be responsible for operational readiness, incident management and building a team that performs under pressure.

The Role
You’ll lead the function responsible for incident response, field coordination and operational control. Your focus will be performance, preparation and continuous improvement.
You will:
Own operational KPIs including response times, safety benchmarks and quality metrics
Lead and develop supervisors and frontline responders
Build and refine emergency protocols, escalation frameworks and playbooks
Oversee staffing models, deployment planning and on-call rotas
Partner cross-functionally with Safety, Engineering, Legal and Operations teams
Run training exercises, simulations and readiness drills
Use data to identify trends, reduce repeat incidents and improve efficiency
Manage vendor performance, budgets and resource planning
Support business continuity planning and expansion into new markets
This is not a desk-bound management role. You’ll be visible, coaching your team and setting the standard.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll likely come from a safety-critical or high-pressure operational environment such as transport, automotive, aviation or similar.
Essential:
Experience managing supervisors against defined KPIs
Proven incident management or crisis response leadership
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into action
Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
Full UK driving licence (held for at least three years)
Comfortable with travel and field deployment when required
Desirable:
Client-facing experience
Degree in Engineering, Safety, Operational Management or similar
