Summary
SEMH Primary Teacher
Location: Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP or Aril 2026
A highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced and resilient Primary Teacher to support pupils with SEMH needs within a specialist Lancashire setting.
Paragon Education is working in partnership with a specialist primary provision in Lancashire to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teacher. The setting supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom require structured routines, consistent boundaries and a nurturing approach to re-engage positively with education.
This role would suit a teacher who is confident in managing behaviour, committed to inclusive practice and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and delivering differentiated primary lessons tailored to individual needs
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through structured and consistent classroom practice
Implementing behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Working closely with teaching assistants, SENCO and external professionals
Monitoring progress in line with EHCP targets
Creating a safe, stable and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Experience teaching within a UK primary setting
Experience working with SEMH needs (mainstream or specialist)
Strong behaviour management skills
Resilient, patient and adaptable approach
Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
