Summary

Are you an experienced Production Supervisor ready to take ownership of a busy press shop? Do you enjoy leading teams, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently met?
We are recruiting a Production Supervisor for a well-established engineering business in Kidderminster. This is a hands-on role where your decisions and leadership will directly impact the success of the press shop and the wider business.
The Role
As Production Supervisor over the press shop, you will manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures. You will lead by example, motivate your team, and use Lean manufacturing techniques to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-performing press shop
Achieve quality standards and meet internal and external customer expectations
Monitor KPIs and ensure production targets are met
Liaise with support functions to resolve production planning, resource, and skill allocation issues
Conduct shift briefings, gather improvement ideas, and deliver feedback to the team
Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and address non-conformance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools and Total Productive Maintenance principles
Support engineering changes, production trials, and pilot builds
Investigate incidents, accidents, and quality issues, implementing corrective actions
Train operators in products, processes, and best practices
About You
Proven experience supervising in a press, forge, or similar manufacturing environment
Strong leadership and people management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Sage 200
Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems proactively
Strong work ethic, initiative, and enthusiasm
