Summary
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Highways Planner to join our utilities team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient planning of works on the public highway in accordance with relevant legislation and local authority requirements.
You will be responsible for coordinating and planning utility works, managing street works permits, and liaising with local authorities to minimise disruption while maintaining programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate utility works on the public highway
Submit and manage street works permits in line with NRSWA and Traffic Management Act requirements
Liaise with local authorities, highway authorities, and internal operational teams
Ensure works are compliant with Section 50/Section 74 legislation (where applicable)
Coordinate traffic management requirements and road space bookings
Monitor permit conditions and ensure deadlines are met
Identify and mitigate potential network clashes and disruptions
Support project teams with scheduling and programme optimisation
Maintain accurate records within street works management systems
Assist with performance monitoring, including FPNs and compliance KPIs
