An exciting opportunity has arisen at University College London Hospital for a Locum Consultant to join the Complex Older People’s Service, covering parental leave. There is the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking clinician with a strong interest in inpatient care, acute frailty, virtual wards, and outpatient services to join our well-established multidisciplinary team. The service currently comprises 11 consultants and a consultant nurse, supported by junior doctors, therapists, and specialist nursing colleagues.

About the Service
The Complex Older People’s Service plays a pivotal role across the patient pathway, delivering:
• Acute frailty services at the front door, in close collaboration with the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Teams
• A range of specialist clinics supporting older people with complex medical needs
• Inpatient care across three consultant-led teams on a dedicated ward
• Virtual wards supporting and managing patients in the community
The Role
The successful appointee will contribute to:
• Acute frailty services
• Virtual wards
• Specialist clinics
• inpatient care
You will be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and to supporting the ongoing development of innovative service models.
As a major teaching hospital with close academic links to UCL, the role offers excellent opportunities for involvement in teaching, training, quality improvement, and research.

This is an exciting time to join the department. Over the coming year, we anticipate further expansion of:
• Virtual ward services
• Silver triage
• Specialist outpatient and clinic-based services
