Summary

Early Years Practitioner in the Extended Day and holiday club
Scale 4-6/SO1 depending on experience
Hours: 15 hours per week during 39 weeks’ term time (3.00-6.00pm) and 30 hours per week for 10 weeks of nursery holiday club
This job involves working with children aged 2-4 in the term time after school club and in the school holidays. You will be working with an experienced team of practitioners. This role has an annual leave allowance which can be taken in term time

We are seeking to appoint an Early Years Educator or other qualified Educator (to at least level 3 standard) or an experienced graduate or teacher with at least 3 years' experience in a setting or school working with children aged 2-4.
You should have:
A good understanding of child development and the Early Year’s Foundation Stage.
You must have worked with 2-4 year olds before and enjoy playing and having conversations with young children and understand how this supports their learning.
An interest in working with children with special educational needs and disabilities and in learning more about how to support them effectively.
A real commitment to work closely with parents and see them as partners
The motivation to work closely with colleagues to create a positive learning environment
The ability to be reflective in your practice and interested in their professional development
A very good level of written and spoken English and ability to use ICT
An interest in contributing to an exciting, caring extended day and holiday provision.
A commitment to safeguarding children and an understanding of why it is important.

You may have
Experience of being a safeguarding lead or part of a safeguarding team in a nursery setting or school - this is not essential but could take the salary grade up to scale 6.
Experience of managing a team - this is not essential but could take the salary grade up to scale 6.
