Summary
Campsfield Immigration centre is the UK's newly refurbished, first all-electric immigration removal centre, managed on behalf of the Home Office by Mitie Care and Custody.
We are seeking a proactive and experienced individual who will be responsible for managing the administrative processes within the People Hub, ensuring that colleagues working within the centre are supported through training, rostering and all operational Human Resource processes. They will also lead workforce planning activity, to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time.
The role holder will play an integral part in the recruitment process, coordinating assessment centres for Detention Custody Officers, in conjunction with operational managers and the training team.
The role of the People Hub Manager will report to the Senior Leadership Team and will have first line management responsibility for a small team of administration staff.
Main Duties
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties.
Manage the transactional activity associated with the People Hub and the administrative staff within this area. This includes ensuring the correct processes are completed and recorded across areas including:
-Training / Learning & Development
-Attendance Management
-Rostering
-Payroll, including overtime and sickness payments
-Staff availability
-Work Life Balance
-HR - Entry & Exit Processes
-Probation and Mi review markings
-Apprenticeship requests
-Operational Staff Leave
-Employee Relations
Undertake other management tasks including:
-Analyse and act on data collected by the Hub and produce any relevant reports and present these reports to Senior leaders and stakeholders to show findings
-To organise and facilitate, regular workforce Planning and Attendance meetings ensuring all relevant information is provided and outcomes are communicated to relevant parties within an agreed timescale.
-Ensure that data entered on local and national systems is accurate and in accordance with agreed timescales
-Collaborate with senior leaders and operational managers to align resource decisions with organisational goals priorities and budgetary requirements
-To lead and oversee the centres workforce planning and recruitment activities including Assessment centres and ITCs, ensuring efficient recruitment and allocation of staff to meet operational and strategic objectives.
What we are looking forWe are looking for someone who has strong communication skills, is able to balance attention to detail with an understanding of wider operational priorities. You should have some experience that covers the employee life cycle, and resource planning along with the confidence of using Microsoft Excel and strong general IT skills.
A proactive professional and problem-solving approach combined, with the ability to translate data into practical insights is essential.
It would be an advantage though not essential to have experience with rostering tools and HR processes, along with familiarity with regulated or custodial environments with line management experience.
Eligibility Criteria
For security clearance purposes, all applicants must:
-Be a British citizen, EU citizen with settled status, or hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) from a Commonwealth country.
-Have resided in the UK for at least the past three years, with limited travel outside the UK.
-Have no significant criminal record, bankruptcy history, or adverse social media activity.
