We are looking for a support worker to join an established team supporting our teenage twin girls. The role is to predominately provide cover for our existing team. The girls attend mainstream school and are very typical teenagers who happen to have a physical disability. They require support to allow them to access the community as independently as possible.
• Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks
• Supporting mobility (including manual handling). Full training will be given
• Encouraging participation in hobbies, social outings, and community activities
• Administering medication (if trained/required)
• Driving our WAV to enable the girls to be able to access the community
• Providing emotional support when needed
• Fun with a great sense of humour
• Caring, patient, and understanding
• Experience supporting young people with disabilities
• Comfortable assisting with personal care
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible
• Excellent communication skills (particularly with teenagers)
• DBS check is mandatory
• Driving licence
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Be enthusiastic and highly motivated
• Ability to work unsupervised and to be able to make decisions if things don’t quite go to plan
• To maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Flexible and innovative approach to working with our girls
• An understanding of health and safety requirements in providing support with young people.
• Understanding the importance of seeking guidance and support when required.
