This established and globally recognised engineering business is seeking a dynamic Technical Support Director to take full ownership of customer-facing technical functions, with a strong emphasis on strengthening After-sales and Service Support.
This critical, high-impact role offers the opportunity to enhance customer experience, elevate operational performance, and lead teams at the heart of product commissioning, service and lifecycle support.
You’ll work closely with the board, helping to shape the long-term strategy of a business known for innovation, reliability and worldwide customer trust.
As the Technical Support Director, you will be getting involved in:
• Leading and developing Technical Support, Commissioning and Aftersales teams across cost, quality and delivery metrics
• Owning the full aftersales operation, including service delivery, maintenance strategies, service engineering performance and spares management
• Ensuring a seamless transition from commissioning into service support to protect customer uptime and satisfaction
• Acting as the senior escalation point for complex technical or customer issues, resolving challenges quickly and professionally
• Enhancing service processes, strengthening service-level performance, and implementing continuous improvement across technical support and aftersales functions
• Working cross-functionally to improve collaboration between key departments
• Contributing to strategic planning and long-term operational development, ensuring service and support excellence remains a core business differentiator
We are looking for someone who has experience in:
• Senior leadership experience within engineering or manufacturing
• Proven experience leading and improving aftersales, technical support or service operations
• The ability to influence through managers and lead multi-disciplinary teams
• A track record of improving delivery, customer satisfaction, quality or operational efficiency
• Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills
• A strong technical engineering background
• A hands-on leadership style combined with strategic capability and experience
