Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Special School in Pentre, RCT
Location: Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales
Salary: £88.92 per day (minimum)
Job Description: An established education provider is seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a special school in Pentre, RCT. This role offers an excellent opportunity for dedicated professionals to support learners with additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), global delay, and challenging behaviours. As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Pentre, you will play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment and supporting students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, global delay, or challenging behaviour
Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
Prepare classrooms for lessons and support staff in lesson delivery
Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Assist learners during break times and lunchtime
Engage learners with classroom and out-of-classroom activities
Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements:
At least 3 months of experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC); support available to assist with registration
Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
References covering the last two years (no gaps)
