Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a standout opportunity for a SENDCo looking to make a significant impact within a supportive, highly organised environment. We are seeking a dedicated SENDCo to join our Senior Leadership Team on a maternity cover basis, working three days a week across our four school federation.

Our established SENDCo has worked tirelessly to ensure that SEN and Inclusion are genuine strengths across our Federation, meaning you will inherit robust systems and successful practices from day one. To ensure you feel confident and prepared, we are offering a full induction period with our current SENDCo before the role begins, allowing for a seamless transition.

The role is entirely non-teaching, allowing you to focus your energy on strategic leadership and the individual needs of our 340 pupils. While you will be moving between our four sites, they are conveniently located within a 10-minute drive of one another. Furthermore, we understand the importance of work-life balance; the three-day commitment can be worked flexibly to suit both your schedule and the needs of the school.

You will never be working in isolation. Following your handover, you will be part of a collaborative network of leaders, supported by the Trust SENDCo and the Federation Senior Leadership Team. We are as committed to your professional evolution as we are to our pupils’ success, and you can expect bespoke professional development tailored specifically to your career journey.

What the school offers its staff

Our schools are part of The White Rose Federation, having joined Pathfinder in November 2024. We are a formal partnership between local schools, who all care about making sure that we do the very best that we can for our children.

The schools in our Federation are Barlow Church of England Primary School, Burton Salmon Community School and Chapel Haddlesey Church of England Primary School and we tend to think of ourselves as one school across multiple sites. Hensall Community Primary is the latest school to join our Federation, bringing our family of schools to 4. We share our training and staff meetings together, utilising each other’s strengths to get it right for the children across our schools.

Suzanne Keeler leads the schools as Executive Headteacher and each school also has a Head of School at each site, with whom you will be able to work in close partnership. The schools share similar structures so you will be able to work alongside teachers and SLT to ensure that our children have effective support and make good progress.

To flourish here you must be professional, resilient, committed, ambitious – for yourself and the school, fair and open to working with others. You also need to be a genuine ‘team-player’. We stand by this as continued school improvement can be a tough journey and supporting one another is imperative. We work at pace and challenge each other to be the best that we can be; the new staff member who joins us must mirror this.

I hope that our advert has piqued your curiosity and you’d like to find out more as we may just be your ‘cup of tea’!
