• Qualified Teacher Status
• Graduate qualification

Experience

• Recent experience of teaching MFL (both French and Spanish in KS3 & KS4)
• Experience of leadership
• Development of good working relationships with colleagues, parents, carers and other stakeholders
• Proven ability to record, use, manipulate, analyse and interpret performance data

• Evidence of pupils making good progress over time

Skills and Qualities

• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate the impact of teaching and learning
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to use IT effectively
• Ability to work to deadlines with high levels of accuracy
• Commitment to supporting the work of schools, pupils, parents and the wider community

Professional Knowledge

• Understanding of current developments in schools and in MFL
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
• Up-to-date knowledge about developments in Education and how it impacts the subject area
• An understanding of good practice when quality assuring the work of the department
• Knowledge of the distinctive nature of a Catholic school
• Good understanding of how to ensure that safeguarding remains a priority in the work undertaken within the role
• Conducting assessments, keeping records and producing reports on pupils
• Knowledge of effective intervention strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning

Desirable

• The ability to inspire and motivate at all levels
• Experience of strategies for raising pupil participation, progress and achievement
• Knowledge of self-review procedures and experience of analysing performance
• Practising Catholic
